Turbines from Hamburg to the Far East

The project

On an autumn morning with typical drizzly weather in Hamburg, three barges delivered three turbines to the port of Hamburg. We unloaded the cargo at the Container Terminal Burchardkai. As each turbine alone weighs 120 tonnes, we used the special HHLA floating crane for handling.

Within two hours we handled the loading smoothly despite the rain and the three turbines were safely on board the Thalassa Mana, a 370-metre container ship.
